End of February

We indeed got our two new chairs & long, skinny table last weekend (Sunday), thanks to my dad. One is a 1940's side chair, and the other is a 1960's club chair. Michael, of course, looked these things up on the internet. I, on the other hand, was happy to just call them chairs and be thrilled with my new seating. We plan on getting them reupholstered, in order for them to match our decor. I'm in the process of finding a good reupholsterer, so if you know anyone good, please let me know!

When I bought my car, there were a few things I wanted to be done maintence-wise. Long story short - I have made several appointments to have these things done, and everytime something goes wrong. I have my final appointment, I hope, scheduled for this Wednesday. That day happens to be a very important day at work, so I am really hoping that all goes well.

It's weird weather time again in Texas. What's new? Next week should be really nice though - all in the mid-70 and I think 80 on Friday. Yay!

New Furniture...Or Not

Today, Michael and I were supposed to go to Sherman and get two antique chairs and a long table that my Grandparents are giving us - but, we aren't now. My parents moved it to next weekend, so no new furniture yet!

So, instead, we're going to IKEA to buy cheap crap to tide us over. :)

Confessions of a Studio Movie Grill

Last night Michael's class was cancelled, for the second time in a row, and we decided to go on a date. FUN. We wanted to do dinner and a movie, so opted for the Studio Movie Grill across the highway from us.

Since nothing better was playing, we went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. Two good things: Isla Fischer was great, and she's always good at comic roles. There were a few comical parts of the movie that weren's so comical, mainly because she was trying too hard. There were a few other scenes (the dance with the fan piece) that were hilarious. Second good thing, it gave a few glimpese in the life of addiction in a way that people without addiciton can understand. I.e. "When I shop it makes my world better...then it's not. So I have to do it again."

And there ends the good. The rest of the movie was a big disappointment. I could have seen that coming, though.

As for the Grill itself, that was also a disappointment. I had heard nothing but good things about the atmosphere, drinks and food - none of which was true in my book. The food was all deep-fried or dripping with oil (even salads), and I never got my drink I ordered (even after telling two of the waitstaff). They had good cookies, though. So, if you want a terrible movie, bad food and good cookies, try it out.

Friday will be MUCH better. I'm going with Michelle to Woodlands, one of my favorite places in Dallas for dinner. Look it up: www.woodlands-grill.com

I'm off to finish this contract book for work. Full speed soon!

Update

I just finished a defensive driving course that has been taking up most of my free time - I apologize for not updating until now!

Recently, I got a new car. I think I wrote about it at some point, or had one of those 4-7 word posts that drive many people crazy. I will hopefully post pictures, of course after I find the camera.

Valentine's Day was yesterday, and I must debrief. Friday night, Michael and I went to Craft (http://www.craftdallas.com/) and ate a wonderful dinner. We shared the lemon and arugula salad for an appetizer, then family-styled (a hallmark of this restaurant) our entrees of quail and golden raisins and diver scallops. We also had one of our several waiters pick red wines for us, and we both ended up with pinot noir. Yum. For our side dishes we got spiced fingerling potatoes and creamy gnocchi. We chose a flight of their twelve ice creams and sorbets for dessert. Banana and mexican vanilla were a go, but rum raisin was not. haha. Very excellent dinner overall, and I would love to go back.

Saturday we had a geek fest. We watched the Lord of the Rings movies and I made Southwestern migas. I also made granola - it's surprisingly easy!

Today, as you know, I have been doing defensive driving. I'm so glad i'm done. I'm off to make dinner and relax with my husband! Happy Sunday!
