{Over the Weekend} Hatch Chile Pork Stew & A View

BIG BREATH. This past weekend was one of our last before starting the fall semester. Tear. We used our freedom to do 10+ miles of walking, I did an exploratory bike ride, and Husband showed me how to use several of the weight training machines in the gym. It was a fitness extravaganza!
Then, I spent Sunday night making a Hatch Green Chile Pork Stew. Delish. It is Hatch season afterall. {If you're in Dallas, I hope you made it to Central Market last week; if you're in PGH, don't miss the roasting at Market District this weekend, Aug. 24 & 25!} Hatch is the best, bar-none. This stew goes nicely with the minty cocktails, Husband's specialty.

PGH Dining: Waffalonia

Being the planners that we are, Husband and I decided to squeeze in a visit to Waffalonia before seeing a 10:00AM matinee showing of a movie on a Sunday morning. Perfect, because they open at 9:00AM, and we were there on the dot.
Waffalonia, Leige Waffle Station, is a small, you'll-miss-it-if-you-blink shop in Squirrel Hill. You'll walk in to a skinny shop, with one side of waffle-making accouterment, the other for walking/ordering. P.S. - there's a wall full of peanut butter and nutella. Mmmm.

 They also offer ice creams:
 Next time I'm definitely trying cinnamon ice cream with Nutella on a hot waffle.
 After we ordered our waffle {Toppings below!}, we waited at the 'tables' alongside the wall. If you're bringing a group, you may want to get your waffles to go. However, it's perfect for a couple o' lovebirds sharing a waffle.
 Here she is...our sugar waffle, complete with a 1/4 c of Nutella, 3/4 of a banana and a huge dollop of whipped cream. Start the oohing and ahhing now.
We brought our own coffees!
 Behold the beauty.

 Crunchy-sweet waffle, ripe banana slices, sandwiched between globs of Nutella and whipped cream. {Typical combination, I know, but too hard to pass up!}

Waffalonia was a sweet beginning to our morning. Check it out when you're in the neighborhood for a cozy decadent breakfast or brunch.

Neighborhood: Squirrel Hill
Good For: Couples Breakfast/Brunch, Out-of-the-Ordinary Dessert
Gems: Ice Cream and Nutella {Expectations, of course}
Drawbacks: Seating Options

What I Wore {to the Movies!}

I wanted to share a quick outfit post with y'all before continuing to apply for jobs. I've been having interviews and second interviews {!}, so I hope to have good news soon. Keep your fingers crossed!

Sunday evening Husband took me to the Manor Theater in Squirrel Hill to see The Iron Lady, a movie about former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. I enjoyed the movie, although it wasn't a true biography, but was done as more of a flashback. Also, I had no idea Thatcher was in ill mental health. Shows you just how much this American knows about English public figures. She is an inspiration, nonetheless. {4 out of 5 stars.} As far as the theater goes, I love it! It had a great feel.

It was snowing on Sunday {it's melted now}, so you get to see a rare glimpse of what the Northeast {MIGHT} be like! It's supposed to snow tonight, so it may be back sooner rather than later.

I paired my grey, knee-length Espirit coat with this outfit, but took it off for the photos. {No, I'm not crazy!}
Tunic: Michael Kors | Jeggings: J Crew | Boots: Ralph Lauren

What are some of the movies on your short list? There are so many out {or coming out soon} that I want to see!

P.S. - Have you become an official follower of {A Dash of Spectacular}? There's a button on the left side of the page especially for that! Click on "Join this Site" as soon as you possibly can! Thanks, y'all!
