Snow! Outside!

For this Texan, snow is a beautiful thing. I've lived through winters of yellow, dead grass or dirty icy snow storms for many years, so naturally, I smiled and ogled at the several inches of snow fall we just got here.
Incredibly fluffy and gorgeous snow.
Across the street neighbors.
I open my door, and this is what I see!

And this!

I know these photos aren't much to speak of, but all around me are white birch trees, houses on hilltops, and mountains covered in this glorious white blanket.
I keep having to remind myself I don't live at a ski resort.

I'll try to take better photos as winter progresses.

  1. I wish I could have one day of snow a week along with my 60 degree Texas weather...guess we can't have it all. Looks beautiful!

  2. @Michelle It'll never happen in Texas! Or, anywhere! The snow is gorgeous - I just hope we get more of it!

  3. I am with you on this one! I was born right outside of Pittsburgh but, up until a year ago, I lived in Dallas for 10 years. People in PA don't understand why I love snow so much. Even my husband (who lived in PA for all but 9 months of his life) doesn't understand why I love it so much. I get like a little kid who is about to have a school cancellation. We didn't get a real winter this year ... wait until next year. IT is so pretty and it really makes you appreciate spring and summer that much more.

  5. I am the exact same way about snow! I lived in Dallas for 10 years and recently moved back to PA (my home state). People don't get why I love it so much ... everyone sees it as a hassle. Sure, there are times when life would be easier without snow but I TRULY think that it makes you appreciate spring and summer SO much more.
